Instate 10:30 AM with Mass at 11:00 AM Friday June 23, 2017, in the Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church, Algonac.  Visitation 6:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.  A rosary will be recited at 8:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in the St. Catherines Cemetery.

John F. (Jack) Lorenz, Jr. of National City, MI and Algonac, MI passed away June 20, 2017. He was born June 8, 1932 in Detroit, MI. Jack enjoyed 25 years of retirement in the Iosco County, MI area where he was an active member of the St. Pius X parish of Hale, serving several roles including lector, Eucharistic minister, singer in the choir, and active member of the Knights of Columbus. He put his generosity into action volunteering his time for the local United Fund project and serving as a red-kettle “bell ringer” at Christmas time. He enjoyed the natural beauty of northern Michigan through hunting, fishing and especially golfing. Prior to his retirement, he worked over 20 years at Huron Automatic Screw Company of Marysville, MI where he served as VP of sales. He raised a vibrant family in Algonac, MI, and instilled in them his own virtues of love, respect and hard work. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, their 3 sons, Michael (Rhonda), Joseph (Virginia) and Thomas, and 4 grandsons.
