Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 13 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Algonac. Interment will be at St. Catherine Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac and at church one hour prior to mass. A rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Alfred A. Jankowski, “Al / Fritz” age 95, of Clay Twp., passed away January 7, 2022. He was born January 6, 1927 in Hamtramck to the late Anthony and Ewa Jankowski. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his service to the country he worked as a machinist for Chrysler for many years. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the UAW. Al enjoyed playing all sorts of card games which he usually won. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his dogs, which the family always had dog at home.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years; Shirley Jankowski, his children; Cheryl (Rudy) Stuglin, Doris (Peter) Wroblewski and Dan Jankowski. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jason (Anne Marie) Hartland, Justin Hartland, Rudy Stuglin, Benjamin (Nicole) Wroblewski, Alison (Nick) Barc, Andrew (Andrea) Wroblewski, along with 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
