Mrs. Moran will be in state at 10:30 AM with Mass 11:00 AM Tuesday October 20, 2015 in the Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church Algonac. Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 PM Sunday, and 1:00-4:00 & 6:00-9:00 PM Monday in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. A Rosary will be recited in the funeral home 3:00 PM Monday

Elizabeth “Jean” Moran,
Algonac, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 17th.

Born July 18, 1928 to John and Alice Stoy in Cincinnati, OH, one of 7 children. The family moved to Detroit in 1931, then Algonac in 1946; where she married William “Bill” Moran on October 26, 1946, they raised 9 children.

Both Jean and Bill were very active in their community over the years, especially at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. They served on many committees, including co-chairpersons for the annual St. Catherine’s Labor Day Weekend Festival and served in the Ladies Guild for over 65 years. She retired from Algonac Community Schools where she worked from 1977-1992. She enjoyed reading, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jean is survived by children Roselyn (Steve) Whitney, Patricia (Keith Campbell) Tomlin, Pete (Joyce), John (Kim Thwing), Mary, Terese (Jeff) Edwards, William (Michelle), Catherine (Al) Biland, daughter-in-law Dawn; sister-in-law Barbara Kackenmaster; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law Nancy (2001), son Paul (2002), and husband (2004), as well as siblings Margaret Damrau, Bob Stoy, Rita Lauthimer, Verna Napper, Larry Stoy and Mart Stoy.

Mrs. Moran will be in state at 10:30 AM with Mass 11:00 AM Tuesday October 20, 2015 in the Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church Algonac. Visitation will be 6;00-9:00 PM Sunday, and 1:00-4:00 & 6:00-9:00 PM Monday in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. A Rosary will be recited in the funeral home 3:00 PM Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the Family Wishes.
