Joan F. Vance age 92 of Algonac, MI. passed away July 24, 2022 in the Regency on the Lake Nursing Home. She was born January 24, 1930 in Hamtramck, MI. to the late Edmund and Sabina (nee Welker) Nowicki. She married John James Vance on February 22, 1952 in Detroit MI.
Joan was a long-time member of the Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church, Algonac, and a member of the St. Catherines Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Vance is survived by her husband John J., children John J. (Catherine) Vance II, Joan C. Bliss, James E. (Lori) Vance, Joseph P. Vance, and Jennifer M. (Roger) Strong, a sister Joyce (the late Gerald) Lindquist, 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephew, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by a daughter Jeanne C. Vance, and by and sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Mato Yankovich.
Mrs. Vance will be instate at 10:00 AM with Mass at 11:00 Thursday July 28, 2022 in the Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church. Arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac, MI.
