Katherine (Kate) Connors, age 79, passed away peacefully at home on November 18th, 2021.

Kate married Joseph (Joe) Connors on November 26th, 1966.  The couple lived on Harsens Island almost 55 years, making lasting friendships and serving as pillars of the island community and at Algonac Baptist Church, where they worshipped for many years.

Kate was born in Marine City April 24th, 1942 to Scott and Helen Yacques  She went to Holy Cross High School, splitting time between the city and the island with her parents and nine older siblings.  She enjoyed many pursuits during different times in her life, including fishing, boating, completing an associate’s degree, restaurant management, reading, doing crossword puzzles, exercise, serving as a Lioness, and serving in her church.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Monday, November 22nd, at Gilbert’s Funeral Home in Algonac.  Funeral services will be held the following day, Tuesday, at 11 am. Pastor Alan Kozlow, of Algonac Baptist Church, will officiate.

The family’s greatest request at this time would be for careful and honest consideration of Christ.  The family has the real assurance of knowing where Kate is, and knowing that their separation from her is not eternal. They implore you to be sure as well, both for yourself and for your loved ones.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project-
