Funeral Services: Instate at 10:30 AM with mass at 11:00 AM Wednesday September 12, 2018, in Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church, Algonac. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac.
Raymond Richard Prudhomme age 89 of Moweaqua, IL and formerly of Algonac, MI passed away September 6, 2018 in Moweaqua Rehab & Health Center. He was born February 26, 1929 in Hamtramck, MI to the late Amie Oscar and Berthe (nee Gauvin) Prudhomme.
Richard was raised in Marine City, MI and attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marine City. He then became a long time Algonac resident until his marriage to Carole when he moved to Moweaqua, IL. Richard along with his 2 brothers, 4 sons, and a daughter worked together at Oakland Welding Ind., Inc. the family welding business.
Richard married Arlene Mae Grove on October 21, 1950. They had seven children, Richard M. (Mary) Prudhomme, David (Patricia) Prudhomme, Gary (Lynn) Prudhomme, Janene (John) Heslip, Michele (Al) Stonehouse, Michael (Nancy) Prudhomme and Sharon (Raymond) Privaloff, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He married Joan Arlene Lupenski on September 22, 1979, she passed away June 12, 1999. He is survived by stepchildren Kim (Dennis) Roggeman and the late Stanley Lupenski, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He married Carole Burgener on September 6, 2002. He is survived by his wife Carole, stepchildren Brad (Stacey) Burgener, Bret (Angela) Burgener, Chad (Jonna) Burgener, Chris (Betsy) Burgener, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Joanne (Ted) Pilchowski. He was preceded in death by brothers Irvin R. Prudhomme and Lawrence C. Prudhomme.
Richard will be instate at 10:30 AM with mass at 11:00 AM Wednesday September 12, 2018, in Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church, Algonac. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association https://www.alz.org/gmc. Local arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.
