Robert Allen Wawrzyniak age 82 of Port Huron, MI. passed away May 30, 2022 in the Blue Water Hospice Home. He was born April 11, 1940 In Detroit, MI. to the late Arthur and Pauline (Jezewski) Wawrzyniak. He married Sara Victoria Fetters on March 23, 1984 in St. Clair, MI.
Robert was a kind and gentle person who was friends with everyone. His life was spent making a difference. Early on, he was in the National Guard, until being appointed by President Johnson to the Army in the 1960’s, where he served in active military duty during the Detroit Riots. He was an American Veteran. Robert obtained his Associates Degree in Engineering from Highland Park Community College. He was then employed as an Engineer for Chrysler Corp. for many years until his retirement, where he oversaw operations for three plants. He was a member of the UAW, Local 412 for Engineers. In the years following his retirement, Robert enjoyed traveling all over the United States with his wife Vicki and dog Winston. They traveled for many years in their R.V., coast to coast, and they also spent a month in Alaska. Near the end of his life, Robert and Vicki lived in Marysville, then Port Huron, enjoying their golden years sitting by Lake Huron, or enjoying time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. Wawrzyniak is survived by his wife Sara Victoria “Vicki” Wawrzyniak, children David Wawrzyniak, Donna Wawrzyniak, step-daughters Anne (Greg) McArdle, Teresa (Joseph) Novosel, and Christine (Joe) Kremer, grandchildren Brady McArdle, Paige McArdle. Jon Robert Novosel, and Nicholas Rzeppa, brother-in-law Paul Fetters and sister-in-law Sharon Fetters.
Mr. Wawrzyniak will be instate at 10:00 AM with Mass at 11:00 AM Tuesday June 7, 2022 in Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church Algonac. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp., MI.
